I help people with anxiety, low mood, fears & phobias and other trauma-related problems to feel better and move forward with their lives.

I also work with people to enhance their personal performance such as sport, exams, work etc.

The approaches I use are fast, effective and empowering. They are evidence-based, using the latest understanding about neuroscience to bring about changes in the way people think, speak and act.

My background is in mental health and I have spent many years supporting people of all ages with a range of issues. Many of them didn’t believe they could overcome their particular challenge and yet they succeeded in doing so. You can read some of their comments on the Testimonials page.

The way I work is based around evidence-based approaches that I have found to be the most effective ways to help with anxiety, low mood, phobias and trauma. I use these in combination to get the best results for you, based on your particular condition.

Clinical Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy is an effective way to change thoughts, beliefs and behaviours. It uses a naturally-occurring state called hypnosis (sometimes also referred to as trance), which feels very similar to daydreaming or the state between waking and sleeping. When you are in this state, you are more able to focus on what the hypnotherapist is saying to you and more accepting of suggestions made to you. These suggestions are based on the changes you’ve said you want to make in your life.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy

Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) is a fast-acting therapy that helps people to start living the life they want to live. Rather than focusing on your problems or asking you to examine them, SFBT looks at what you do want, how you’d prefer things to be and what’s already working. It promotes feelings of hopefulness, identifying and building on your strengths, skills and resources to move towards your preferred future. SFBT empowers you as it has, at its heart, the fundamental principle that we are the experts in our own lives and can, therefore, find the solutions to our problems.

Rewind Therapy for Post Traumatic Stress (PTSD):

Rewind Trauma Therapy is recognised as an effective technique for people with Post Traumatic Stress particularly anyone who has flashbacks, intrusive thoughts or high levels of anxiety. It is sometimes called “closure without disclosure” because it doesn’t require you to disclose anything about your trauma in order to work.

Rewind Therapy for Phobias

Rewind Therapy is a highly effective treatment for phobias. While fear is a natural and healthy response to danger, and part of our survival instinct, phobias are very different. They tend to be more intense than fears, causing severe anxiety and sometimes triggering panic attacks. In some people, symptoms can arise simply from thinking about the thing they are afraid of. Phobias can hold you back from doing what you want to do and often cause great distress.

Phobias can have far-reaching consequences for your life. For example, someone with a needle phobia might feel so panicky about having an injection they may avoid seeking medical attention. They may not engage in certain types of social, sporting or leisure activities for fear of hurting themselves and needing to go to hospital. Someone with emetophobia (fear of vomiting) may avoid becoming pregnant.

Phobias are generally categorised as one of two types – a specific phobia or a complex phobia.
